G42. Charles Edward COLCHESTER was born on 2 Feb 1848 in St George, Hanover Square area, London. He died on 28 Jul 1902.
He was a partner in Colchesters & Woolner from 1867, but he was more interested in art than in business, so he retired to Ventnor in 1871,19 and was recorded there on Newport Road in the 1881 census with two servants and his sister Emma.44 He gave his occupation as painter.44
He was the sole inheritor from Charles Cornwall Colchester in 1876 35 and also received £5000 from Charles Bye Colchester in 1867 45.
He was married to Clara Elizabeth SUTTON in 1885 in Isle of Wight. She was born in 1857 and died in 1925 in Hammersmith.28
Hester Colchester left Clara a half share of her estate.46
Charles Edward COLCHESTER and Clara Elizabeth SUTTON had no known children.
