Turnip.
Strong leadership characteristics, often described as 'great, big', even 'enormous'. Strong homemaker tendencies, can put down strong roots and find it difficult to move house. Favourite colour: White. Favourite food: Soup or Healthy crisps.
Carrot.
A rough surface can belie a sweet nature. Naturally adaptive this carrot will grow around hard stones and seek out nourishment wherever it can. Prone to claustrophobia, will not thrive in a heavy atmosphere, prefers a lighter environment to put down roots. Favourite holiday destination: The seaside. Favourite animal: Rabbits or horses.
Broad Bean.
A sociable bean, this one, and liking comfort too. Gets on well with other beans. On best behaviour when given pride of place, or accompanying a main attraction, this bean suffers when grouped with other vegetables. Parents of broad beans should be careful not to smother their baby beans' own distinctive tastes, but rather encourage than individualism and let the other veg follow! Favourite food: butter. Favourite past time: Going to the movies.
Asparagus
Elegant to its core, the asparagus maintains an air of mystique no matter how humble its beginnings. However, flirtation may not come naturally and the Asparagus may secretly wish for a quieter, less demanding social environment. Favourite Drink: Pernot or Gin and Tonic. Favourite Past Time: Horse Riding.
Cabbage.
The sensible and stable cabbage is often mistaken for a dull, cheerless vegetable. On the contrary, the cabbage can have many talents, and a deceptive exterior can conceal an intruiging personality. Dependable and faithful as a friend, the cabbage can be a lasting companion. Favourite drink: Red wine. Favourite hobby: football.
Marrow.
The marrow is a vulnerable soul: To all appearances debonair and often regarded as a bit of a dandy, the Marrow stands out from the crowd as a bit of a loner. But this Marrow needs a lot of attention to fulfill its potential - left alone it may become brittle and weak, and this may lead to a long lasting bitterness. Cared for, however, a friendly soul with a big heart. Favourite beverage: milk. Favourite hobby: playing on the swings.
Courgette.
Its easy to mistake the Courgette for its neighbour the Marrow, but this would be a serious mistake indeed. Courgettes can take offence at this comparison, for after all they are the smaller vegetable. Despite this, or perhaps becuase of it, the courgetter is a perky, cheerful character that always looks on the bright side of life. Favourite TV Show: Star Trek. Favourite TV character: Father Brown.
Artichoke.
A prickly character by all accounts, but often quite a looker! This vegetable has fooled many into thinking it has aspirations of flowering forever, while in fact it is hiding a heart of gold, shielding it from gaze with glamourous offishness. Favourite Drink: French Lager. Least Favourite hobby: Fishing.

SweetCorn.
This vegetable can be amaizing. Particularly suited to military life and always an officer and a gentleman. Takes great pride in appearances and often to be found shining boots and polishing buttons with a well used green polishing cloth. Favourite hobby: Cross country running. Favourite Food: Hot dog.
Leek.
An elegant fellow requiring a lot of support. Unlikely to put down strong roots, the Leek is likely to be an astronomer or politician, and perhaps prone to the odd misadventure. Favourite Food: Roast Beef. Favourite hobby: Flying kites.

Prone to financial misadventure, the Potato needs supportive and intelligent friends and may suffer without them. Favourite TV Show: Cheers. Favourite food: Omelet.
Pea.
An endearing little fellow ideally suited to Coxing a rowing team. A good student and perceptive teacher, the Pea is well liked and respected. Favourite TV Show: Newsnight. Favourite Desert: Black forest gateaux.
Broccoli.
Wild and artistic, the Broccoli could do well to drink less. Uncaring for appearances, the Broccoli is flamboyant and daring, the James Dean of vegetables. Favourite TV Show: Ready Steady Cook. Suggested Beverage: Strong black coffee.
Cauliflower.
Akin to the sensible cabbage, the Cauliflower cannot resist showing off the dazzling heart which resides in its centre. Prone to emotional demonstrations, the cauliflower brings a touch of drama to its otherwise well-rounded family. Favourite food: cheese. Favourite TV Show: Sunset Beach.
