The dogs love this walk, although their pleasure is very much tide dependent
(to check when high/low tide is in your area, try The BBC).
If you take the path from the Marina, you’ll need to allow 1.5 – 2 hours of walking before you can turn back inland again, since the wall curves out in a very deep horseshoe. If you miss that turning, you can add another 40 minutes, before you’ll see a concrete road leading back in towards the far side of Tollesbury once more…
If you take the path from by the boat club, you’ll head past the sewers (not as bad as it sounds!), eventually reaching ‘the breach’, where part of the sea wall has been opened up to allow the sea in once more. Keep walking and you can either turn left and find yourself back in Tollesbury again, or keep going a little further and end up on the back road to Colchester.
